Ivertec at a Glance

Ivertec is an Irish IT company founded in Kerry in the mid-nineties. In 2007 the company launched their broadband service for the South Kerry region with the aim of bringing reliable internet access to one of Ireland’s more rural regions.

Flash forward 15 years and Ivertec has grown to become one of the leading broadband providers for the South West (Kerry and parts of Cork). Ivertec combines modern fibre optic technology with wireless solutions to offer the “best broadband speeds available” for the Kerry and Cork regions.

Ivertec prides itself on leaving no rural home behind and being a local company with local staff. They provide top of the range rural broadband services with a tech-friendly support service that is both professional and personal in equal measure.

Ivertec’s broadband service is unique in comparison to some of the more mainstream internet providers in that it is so localised. However, if you find yourself in the Kerry/Cork region and want reliable rural broadband from an established Irish company, Ivertec may be the solution you’ve been looking for.

Why Choose Ivertec Broadband?

Ivertec work in conjunction with NBI, the company responsible for rolling out Ireland’s National Broadband Plan. Together they’ve set a goal of delivering Gigafit Fibre internet access to over half a million homes in the coming years. This bodes well for those looking to avail of Ivertec’s network.

In terms of internet packages, Ivertec offer three primary Fibre Broadband solutions:

Fibre 100 includes up to 100 Mbps download speed and up to 20 Mbps upload speed, unlimited data and free installation on a 12-month contract. It starts at €39.95/month and rises to €49.95 after the first year.

Fibre 500 offers up to five times faster download speeds at 500 Mbps as well as up to 50 Mbps upload speed. Again data is totally unlimited with this 12-month contract. However there is a €50 installation fee. In terms of cost it also comes in at €39.95 but rises to €59.95 after the first year.

The third and most premium of the Fibre Broadband contracts is the Fibre 1000 option. This boasts up to 1000 Mbps download speed, and up to 100 Mbps upload speed, so by far and away the quickest and most powerful of the three options. However this is reflected in the cost, coming in at €54.95 for the first year and rising to a considerable €79.95 thereafter.

Ivertec Broadband: Way Out West

As mentioned above, Ivertec is about as regionalised as you can get when it comes to internet access services. Their broadband network covers the majority, but not necessarily all of Kerry, along with parts of Cork. Before you decide whether or not Ivertec is the broadband solution for you, it’s worth checking if the service is even an option in your area.

Here’s the most recent list of areas covered by the Ivertec network:
